This is a mini set of the full size game of Boccia. This game was developed for those with limited strength or mobility, and works in a similar fashion to bowls. This mini set has been designed for indoor use when there isn't the space or weather for the full sized game. Ideal for playing on a table top, these mini boccia balls are just 1.5 inches (approximately) in diameter, fitting perfectly in the hand. They also work well for small children who may be learning the rules of the game. The set includes 6 red balls, 6 blue balls and 1 white jack ball all in a mini duffel type red case. These Boccia balls are made from a unique pliable material which allows them to be propelled in any manner, be it thrown, rolled or pushed. A miniature set for playing the game of boccia There are 6 red balls, 6 blue balls, and 1 white jack ball The game is a great way to learn the rules or as a fun way to pass time on a rainy day Each of the mini boccia balls are just 1.5 inches in diameter, making table top play possible To ensure that the pieces do not get lost, there comes a miniature duffel type bag to hold the set To play the game, players must try and score as many points as possible by getting as many of your Boccia balls closer to the jack than your opponent. It can be played by individuals, pairs or teams of three. The aim of the game of boccia is to throw balls, coloured either red or blue as close as possible to the white target ball, or jack. The jack is thrown first, then the first two regular blue and red boccia balls are thrown (first by the player who threw the jack then the other person/team), after which, the side furthest away from the jack goes next in an attempt to either get closer to the jack or knock the opposition's ball away from the jack. This carries on until the end when one player or team has played all their balls, at which point, the other person/team will play their remaining balls. The balls can be moved with hands, feet or, if required, with an assistive device such as a ramp. At the end of each round the referee measures the distance of the balls closest to the jack, and will then award points accordingly - one point for each ball that is closer to the jack than the opponent's closest ball. The player or team with the highest number of points at the end of play is the winner. If both teams have the same amount of points after all ends have been played, one additional boccia game is played to determine the overall winner. The game of boccia is a good form of exercise for all involved, it provides both fun and entertainment.
